MALMESBURY School has been given a cash boost by Bloor Homes to upgrade its sixth form facilities.

The housebuilder has contributed £2,000 towards the school’s project which will see buildings undergo a complete modernisation which will help the Ofsted outstanding school to continue its success.

The donation will contribute towards the £10,000 that the Malmesbury School is hoping to raise to complete the project.

Danya Clarke, Chair of the Malmesbury School PTA, said: “The Malmesbury School is an important asset for the town and a significant pull for many people, including myself as I moved to Malmesbury because of it.

“My family and I live at the Bloor homes development, which is so convenient for my kids who go to the Malmesbury School too.

“In order to maintain its high academic standards, the school is working on a modernisation plan for the sixth form facilities. However, ongoing funding pressure means there is a significant shortfall in the money needed for the project.

“The school PTA has already raised £5,000 of the required sum and is working hard to raise more. Bloor Homes’ generous donation has moved us significantly close to our target and we are delighted.”

Rowena Adams, Regional Sales Director at Bloor Homes South West, said: “We are so pleased that our donation to the school is going to be used in such a worthy way. We are always keen to help the local communities in which we build.”
