IT’S great to treat your mum every now and then, and when I saw the Take That inspired musical The Band was coming to Bristol I had to bring her along for a girly night out.

The magic of Robbie, Gary, Mark, Howard and Jason came to life on stage in this show, that offers much more than just a jukebox musical.

Written by Tim Firth and with the full support of the current line-up of Take That, the show sets out to give crowds the feel of a gig with the 1990s sensations, as well as a heart-warming storyline that is enjoyable to watch unfold.

Stars include the five men who won the BBC talent show Let It Shine, in which Gary Barlow scoured the country for singers to do justice to the legacy of the pop band.

But the musical is more than just the chance to sing along to your favourite track (Never Forget for me).

The show follows the crush experienced by five schoolgirls who live to watch Top of the Pops every Thursday night and dance around their bedrooms, while deciding which member of The Band they will marry.

One night their whole world changes and they lose touch, despite promising to be friends forever.

Jump forward 25 years and the girls have become women, some with children of their own, and a radio competition to see The Band’s reunion tour brings them back together.

Whether it’s the classic 90s pop that you love or the new hits off of the back of Take That’s own comeback success, the boys leave no musical number unturned.

The audience got up on their feet as The Band sang out a medley of hits. If you want a fun night out where you can laugh, cry and, depending on your age, see your childhood heroes come to life, look no further than The Band.
