A YEAR after a thatched farmhouse in a village near Devizes was destroyed by fire plans for it to be rebuilt have been submitted to Wiltshire Council.
Farmer David Sheppard and his wife Jean were devastated when their home of more than 20 years was made uninhabitable by the blaze last April. They have now applied to have the Old Manor House in Chandlers Lane re-instated to how it was before the fire.
The Grade II listed property which is in the village conservation area is of 17th century origin. A report to the council says: "The external appearance of the building and the internal layout, together with the various materials employed shall be as before."
