PLANNING permission has been welcomed by Marlborough Town Council to turn one of the town's oldest building into a luxury restaurant.
Rumours have already surfaced that the restaurant will become a brasserie Blanc run by French chef Raymond Blanc
The former Godot’s restaurant site and next door unit on Kingsbury Street, is set to be turned into a restaurant with 10 luxury rooms.
Developer Simon Wetton said: “It was great to see the council universally enthusiastic about the project. It was really encouraging to hear about the town’s others projects including the cinema in the old church which will breath some life into the town apart from relying on shops to attract people in.”
The town council planning committee granted permission unanimously. The application will now go to Wiltshire Council planning.
