SEARCH and rescue teams looking for a 'high risk' missing person were in and around Marlborough last night.

Three police cars passed through Marlborough High Street at 7.40pm last night and residents were woken during the early hours of the morning as a helicopter took to the skies.

Wiltshire Search and Rescue supported the police in the search and said: “While you've been asleep, Wiltshire Police deployed the team to search for a high risk missing person in the Marlborough area.”

Wiltshire Police confirmed the police activity was due to a missing person search.

The helicopter was spotted flying in the Axford area at around 5.30am this morning.
