VOTE on what projects deserve to get funding in Marlborough by hearing community groups pitch their best ideas to the public.

Marlborough Area Board is handing over spending power to Marlborough residents tonight, as over a dozen local groups are in with the chance of getting £500 worth of funding.

Audience members will listen to the arguments from groups, who all work with young people, on why they deserve the cash, before they cast their vote by putting tokens in a box.

The groups range from dance and drama to a local brass band and from sports clubs and environmental groups to hi-tech coding.

As well as voting for their favourite pitch, residents can find out volunteering their time for a good cause.

The Area Board Meeting will be held straight after the volunteer fair.

To take part in the bidding war visit the Community and Youth Centre on St Margaret's Mead from 6pm tonight.
