STOLEN tools are being reunited with their owners after kind hearted residents who found dumped tool boxes took to social media to find the owners.
Pictures of tool boxes and bags were posted on social media this afternoon, as homeowners discovered the discarded items in their gardens or beside footpaths in and around Marlborough.
It is thought that thieves dumped the items after being disturbed during a theft.
The bid to reunite the items with their owners comes after tools were stolen from a van in Reeds Ground, Marlborough, last night. Police believe that tools stolen form this van were dumped near Kelham Gardens.
A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: “Entry was gained to a Ford Transit van in Reeds Ground, Marlborough, between 10pm on 22 February and 7am on 23 February.
“Power tools were stolen during the incident. It is believed the items have now been located in the area of Kelham Gardens.”
Anyone with information has been urged to contact police on 101.
