TWO men have been arrested after a robbery at knife point in Manchester Road.

The incident took place at around 11am on Wednesday, January 3.

Police say that two males threatened two other males with a knife before demanded money from the victims.

An undisclosed sum was handed over. It’s believed the victims knew the two males.

Two males from Swindon have since been arrested.

One was a 14-year-old arrested on suspicion of robbery and possessing a knife and the other a 17-year-old on suspicion of robbery, possessing a knife and threats to kill.

Both have been released on conditional bail until the end of this month.

Local crime investigator (LCI) Dee Williams said: “We’re appealing for anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious in this busy area around this time.

“Also, we are appealing for anyone who may have CCTV footage of this incident to come forward.”
