POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a substance believed to be some form of glue has damaged the stone steps and stone work to a cocktail and wine bar in Calne.
A group of people were seen loitering on the steps of the Old Bank House on The Strand on December 15 at 5.03pm and damaged the stone work.
PCSO Abbie Osborne of the Calne Community Policing Team, said: "We are working closely with the owners of the license premises to prevent a continuation of this behaviour. A manager of the premises has requested that we advise that this behaviour has not emanated from within the venue, or is linked to their customers in any way.
"Pro-active patrols have been increased, and Calne CCTV have been requested to monitor this location to assist us in preventing this behaviour and to locate any persons responsible."
Anyone with information in relation to this crime should contact Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting crime reference number 54170116806 and asking for the information to be passed to PCSO 8214 Osborne at Calne police station.
