BRADFORD Town maintained their excellent start to the Toolstation League Premier Division season with a 2-0 success at home to Brislington on Saturday.

Martin Lenihan broke the deadlock for the hosts after an hour at Trowbridge Road before Sam Jordan made the points safe with a second goal 10 minutes later.

The result means Danny Greaves' side remain third in the table, having lost just one of the first 16 league fixtures in 2017-18.

They have now moved five points ahead of local rivals Melksham Town in fourth place after Kieran Baggs’ side saw their proposed trip to Cadbury Heath postponed.

The Wiltshire derby between Malmesbury Victoria and Corsham Town in Division One also fell victim to the cold weather, while Devizes Town’s clash at home to Cheddar was abandoned with five minutes to play because of floodlight failure with the score at 1-1.

Westbury United did get a game in and returned to winning ways with a thumping 5-1 success at Oldland Abbotonians.

Dan Kovacs scored twice and there was one goal each for Jordan Pinder, Jamie Jordan and Ricky Hulbert as Westbury climbed to third in the table.

Warminster Town were 3-1 winners at home to Chard Town, Chippenham Park beat visitors Almondsbury 2-1 but Calne Town lost 3-0 at home to leaders Keynsham Town.
