ENTRIES for this year's Bromham Pudding Run sold out in under four hours but people can still join in the fun on December 3 by cheering on the runners.

The race will once again raise money for St Nicholas Primary School at Bromham, near Devizes and organisers from the school's Parent Teacher Association are delighted at its success.

Race director Ellen Stiles said: "Every year the race sells out quicker than the year before and this year was no exception with the race selling out in under four hours and the waiting list is also full.

"The Pudding Run is one of Wiltshire's best loved 10k races with runners often achieving a personal best over the two lap flat race, the friendly villagers cheering runners on, lots of marshals and views of Roundway Hill.

"It will again raise thousands of pounds for St Nicholas Primary. The money raised from the event is spent across the school from subsidising trips such as school swimming and visits, much needed classroom furniture, the woodland area and pond the school are hoping to create this year and extra curricular activities such as the school discos and movie nights."

She thanked new sponsors McCarron & Company and The Greyhound pub and said this year in addition to the traditional Christmas pudding for all finishers they will also get medals paid for by McCarron and The Westbrook pub. The Greyhound will be providing the puddings.

She said: "We are so thankful to all of our sponsors. Without all the support of local companies who sponsor us including Vaughans Kitchen, Grist Environmental, Thermocold, Iles & Vincent funeral directors and many, many more we couldn’t make this event as successful for both runners and the school."

The race starts at 11am.
