AN outdoor classroom complete with a bug hotel, log sofas and a mud kitchen put together by volunteers from Interserve and Corsham Ministry of Defence opened at Corsham Primary's Broadwood site last week.

Pupils at the school joined volunteers from the MoD on Tuesday (October 10) for the official opening of the outdoor classroom, which took around eight months to build.

Head of school Kerry Parker said: "It is not often you get such a wonderful offer of support and Interserve and the MOD organised the development of the ground and provided volunteers.

"We asked the children to create a design for space and in the end we amalgamated a variety of designs into one and they spent the last eight months creating it.

"The space will now be used to support learning and the teachers really value it. It adds another dimension to the children's learning and it makes it memorable.

"All the children would like to thank Interserve and the MoD for their hard work and we hope to continue to have a productive relationship with them in the future."
