A BATMAN superfan in Calne who turned the spare bedroom of his home into a Batcave is hoping to be crowned the winner of Games Room of the Year 2017.

Dark Knight enthusiast Darren Wilson transformed his spare bedroom into his very own Batcave with incredible attention to detail, to enjoy his own unique virtual reality experience when he plays the videogame Batman: Arkham.

He said: “The whole project took 18 months to complete. Now when I play Batman: Arkham on the Mac I am automatically transported to the world of the superhero in his own surroundings within my games room.”

The competition, hosted by Home Leisure Direct, the UK’s leading supplier of specialist games room equipment, is in its 3rd year.

The deadline for submissions is this Friday (October 13).

The top 10 games rooms will be picked by an internal Home Leisure Direct judging team before the winner is decided by the public.

Managing director of Home Leisure Direct, Andy Beresford, said: “While Friday 13th is deemed unlucky for some, it certainly won’t be for one of the entrants as they’ll be on the way to winning the competition and securing a £3,000 cash prize as part of it, as well as the bragging rights of owning the best games room in the country.”

The winners will be rooms with the most uniqueness and attention to detail, showing a lot of passion and creativity, not necessarily the games room with the most impressive or expensive equipment.
