A PEDESTRIAN was involved in a hit and run in Chiseldon last month.

A man in his 30s was walking along the verge in Hodson Road, on the way out of the village before it becomes the B4005, at around 11.50pm on Saturday, September 30 when a silver Ford Focus hit him.

The car failed to stop but ended up in a nearby hedge with the occupant(s) fleeing the scene.

They were last seen running towards Hodson.

The victim was bruised and his ankle was broken as a result of the collision.

Wiltshire Police are now appealing for witnesses.

PC Sam Young said: "We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this collision or saw or heard anything suspicious in this area around this time.

"We are not sure if the driver was alone or if there were passengers too - if you saw anyone walking or running from this area or anything which could be useful for our investigation, please contact me."

Anyone with information should contact PC Sam Young on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
