Action for the Kennet (ARK) held a well attended members autumn river walk last Saturday in Ramsbury, through usually private reaches of the Kennet.

The glorious sunshine showed off the chalk river and surrounding land beautifully and members, including new members who signed up on the day, enjoyed tea and cakes within the grounds of Howe Mill.

This Saturday ARK are welcoming the community to a Snake's Head fritillary bulb planting afternoon at Stonebridge Wild River Reserve, Marlborough from 1pm.

This event is suitable for families and children and organisers welcome new people to visit the area and get involved. It is one in a series of Stonebridge Get Involved events funded by the Local Youth Network.

"We have the bulbs and trowels and we are looking forward to working with the community enhancing the conservation grazing area in Stonebridge Meadow (jointly owned by ARK and Marlborough Town Council) with these delicate chequered blooms.", said ARK Project Officer Anna Forbes.
