WITH the Marlborough Literature Festival just weeks away, Waitrose has pledged its annual sticky bun donation to the book event and will provide sweet treats throughout the festival.

Tickets have been selling like hot cakes ahead of the Lit Fest, with both Frank Gardner and Will Self selling out.

The High Street food shop has yet again come out in support of the annual celebration of writing, taking place from September 28 to October 1.

Freshly baked Marlborough Buns filled with rich fruit will be sent over to the Lit Fest café daily to provide a welcome pit stop to bookworms in between talks.

Kay Newman, the Lit Fest committee member, said: “Waitrose have been really supportive with the Lit Fest from the very beginning.

“They bake their buns every day for us fresh and we are really grateful for all their support. We are in the last phase now, tickets are selling.”

Waitrose has researched heritage regional recipes to bring retro sticky buns to the festival.
