MEMBERS of Hardenhuish School's Sheep Club had some long awaited cuddles with some of their furry friends at a farm in Hilmarton over the summer holidays.

The school has kept a flock of Jacob Sheep for several years and their Sheep Club allows pupils to get hands on experience with sheep as well as other animals including ponies, alpacas and goats fut finally after a long summer holidays, the club got to see their four legged friends at Dave Buscombe's farm in Hilmarton.

Teachers Steph Newbould and Henry Rogers took the club to the farm in July where they put their animal care techniques to the test as well as work with them in their home environment.

Mr Rogers said: “The visit was a great opportunity to see what happens to our small flock of sheep during the holidays and has inspired the pupils to think about a career in agriculture and veterinary sciences and animal welfare. Many thanks to Dave Buscombe, and the work experience pupils who enabled this visit to take place and bring a close to a great year working with the Hardenhuish shepherds.”
