THE victim of a night time attack in Trowbridge on Saturday has now been released from hospital and is slowly recovering at home.
But police are still appealing for witnesses to the assault which left a man with head and chest injuries.
The attack happened in Duke Street just before 10pm close to the Wiltshire Times office and the road was closed for several hours. The man was taken to Royal United Hospital, Bath for treatment and detained.
Det Sgt Adam Fleetwood-Brown said: "We'd like to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious around this time on Saturday evening.
"This is a central part of town and someone should have witnessed something - if that was you, please come forward."
