THE Wiltshire Air Ambulance Airbase Appeal is to benefit from a £700 donation from a fun dog show at Bradford Leigh last weekend.

Anne Hooper raised the money from a dog show at Merkins Farm Café and camping site on Saturday August 12 . She plans to organise a cheque presentation to the Appeal organisers.

Anne said: “We had 60 dogs entered on the day and raised a brilliant £700 for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Airbase Appeal. The highlight of the day was the air ambulance flying over the venue.”

Nick Burden, of the Hale Veterinary Hospital in Chippenham, judged dogs in 12 different categories before deciding on the two best dogs in the show.

The Best in Show was a red setter called Honey owned by Vicky Purves of Bradford on Avon, and the Reserve Best in Show was a beagle named Max owned by Andrea Green of Chippenham.

The winner of the Fancy Dress Class was Marilyn Challinor of Chippenham with her dog Lucy.
