Traditional British hits were performed to delighted crowds in Albourne by the village band on the square for their annual Proms on the Green event.

Deckchairs and cakes were on hand as around 400 people gathered at the centre of the village to hear the classic hits played out.

The brass band, which is ranked in the top 50 bands in the world, wowed crowds as they performed renditions of Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory in the village square.

Aldbourne Band welcomed young soprano Tilly Wale onto the stage who sang I Dreamed a Dream from ‘Les Miserables’ accompanied by the band during the evening of festivities on August 6.

Chairman Ian Keene said: “We had a great turn out and we put on a fantastic traditional English event. It is something we look forward to every year and hope to continue doing for years to come.”

The final concert in the band’s season of events will be held on September 3 in the village square.
