MORE floats and walking entries are needed to take part in this year's Devizes Carnival parade on September 2.

Making sure there is plenty of noise and excitement as the procession leaves the Green at 6.15pm will The Rajasthan Heritage Big Band who will lead the way as India comes to Devizes.

Devizes Outdoor Celebratory Arts artistic director Loz Samuels said: "Carnival is the culmination of masses of hard work on the part of the participants and a real spectacle for all those involved.

"We are looking forward to seeing what our creative local groups bring to this year’s procession. Please register in advance if you want to be included in the judging process, it helps us get organised and plan for the event and we can promote your work if you keep in touch with us during your preparations for the day.

"Paisley the Sacred Cow will be joining us this year. She was created as part of our carnival development project which inworkshops led by Bristol-based artist Dee Moxon, alongside participants of workshops run during May and June at Caenhill Countryside Centre.

"She’s already visited the Isle of Wight Mardis Gras, and we’re looking forward to see her on parade around Devizes."
