ORGANISERS are busy preparing a farm in Great Somerford ahead of the annual Somerfords and District show, which will take place over the weekend.

The show, which will play host to popular equestrian classes, dog shows, fun fairs and trade stands, will be held at Brook Farm on Saturday (August 12) from 9am. The infamous duck race, which will raise money for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and Julia's Houses, will take place in the afternoon.

Show chairman Charlie Gawthropp said: “Now in its 122nd year The Somerfords Show is a fantastic family day out. Whether you plan on entering one of our many show categories or simply coming along for a fun day out there is something for everyone!”

Tickets, which cost £5 for adults, £2.50 for senior citizens and free for under 16s, can be bought on the day.
