VILLAGE royalty will be on parade when Seend holds a vintage themed fete on August 12.

Prince Rhys Grew, Princess Bethany Knight along with attendants Tatum Owen and William Twiner-Griggs will show off their finery when the fete is held from 12.45pm to 5pm on the Lye Field in the centre of the village.

Fete committee member Zoe McMillan said: "A strong vintage theme runs through this year's event complete with vintage car displays, singers and dancers which even include dancing dogs putting on a vintage display."

"There will also be an opportunity to capture a family portrait in vintage finery for posterity in a movie booth."

Fancy dress judging will get the afternoon off to a competitive start at 12.45pm and this will be followed at 1pm by the grand opening and parade.

Later there will be performances by Betsy Harmony and the Swindon Dog Dancing School. On the same day the village flower show will be held in a hall alongside the Lye Field.
