CLIENTS of Inspire are being warned not to open an email that was sent by scammers.

Staff at the Wessex Chamber of Commerce have spent the morning contacting their clients and partners after an email from bevyn@vicdiagnosticgroup.com.au with the subject "Overdue invoice from Inspire by Wessex Chambers" began circulating today (July 27).

Jess Pitman, head of marketing, said: "The email looks like it is coming from our finance department about an overdue invoice except it is coming from an Australian email.

"It is the first time we have dealt an external threat in about three years, maybe even more and we are recommending that no one should open the email, click on the link or open the attachment.

"If anyone is concerned then they should call us on 01225 355553."
