UNCERTAINTY over the future of Franco's Italian restaurant in Devizes is continuing amid speculation it may have closed for good.
Chef and baker Giovanni Campanella, who started the restaurant in Old Swan Yard more than 20 years ago, said he wanted customers to know that he is no longer connected with the business.
He said: "I gave up my share in Franco's three years ago. I want people to know that the closure of Franco's has nothing to do with the coffee shop Dolicipani.
"The cafe is doing really well after a refit a few years ago and I am very grateful to all my loyal customers."
A sign has gone up on the door of Franco's, which is downstairs from Dolcipani, saying it has closed for a refit. But Mr Campanella said he had no information about if or when it would open.
