A MAN who burgled a house while armed with a machete more than five years ago has been remanded in custody by a judge.

Dean Duggan took cigarettes, paracetamol and a cannabis grinder during the incident in College Road, Trowbridge, on June 20, 2012.

The 28-year-oldm formerly of Frome, but now living in Kilkenny, Ireland, pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court.

Judge Robert Pawson adjourned the case to August 24 and remanded Duggan, who appeared in court by videolink, in custody until then.
