A MERRY band of pupils from Devizes’ Trinity Academy wowed parents and teachers last week with their end of term performance of ‘Hoodwinked’, a play about Robin Hood.

The Key Stage 2 children put on three performances last week, on July 18 and 19, to show off their acting talent and bring the school year to an end.

Year six teacher Sami Storton said: “The play was an absolute success. In our first performance the music stopped completely but this did not stop the Trinity children: they carried on as if nothing had happened and performed the rest of the play music-free so we could hear only their voices. The resilience they showed allowed us to see their true talents!

“For our final show we even had parents turning up asking to see the show even though they didn't have any children in the performance. The children worked incredibly hard and it certainly paid off.

“For this year’s show there was no budget and so we pulled together and managed to get everything done ourselves or borrowed. With this in mind we held a collection at the end of the last performance and would like to thank everyone for their kind contributions to next year’s show.”
