Africa came to Great Bedwyn School as year six pupils performed The Lion King for their end of year performance.

Pupils donned costumes for the musical extravaganza which included hits from the original Broadway show, with the pupil’s unique spin on the classic.

The annual show was put on for pupils and parents and was the result of many rehearsals and singing practises. Costumes and set were also designed and created within the school.

Class 6 teacher Sam Earl was praised for directing the show.

Head teacher Nicola Williams said: "The children all worked so hard on this production and their dedication really paid off - it was amazing!”

Proud parents were among the audience and Sarah Richardson, a Year 6 parent added: "Well done to Mrs Earl and all her team for such a professional show."

Three performances took place on July 12 and 13 with a special matinee performance put on for volunteers from the greater community who provide support at the school.
