A NEW barber shop and tattoo parlour in Trowbridge which focuses on male grooming has caught the attention of a forthcoming E4 TV show for its eye-catching style.

FTH Male Image and Grooming, of Castle Street, opened its doors to the public this month, providing haircuts in one room and tattoos in another, with the interior sporting graffiti work from Bristol artist Voyder.

On its opening night, film crews from E4, owned by Channel 4, were there to take photos of the place as part of a show that looks at the changing world of men’s grooming and how it has skyrocketed in recent years.

Owner Emma Smith said she was very excited at the prospect of being on TV and at how the business has gone so far.

“It is great to have that exposure when you are starting off. The TV show is about male grooming and how it is growing all the time and that is something we focus on heavily,” she said.

“I have been looking for years to move into a bigger premises as Voltz Trowbridge tattoo place, which was in Narrow Street, was too small. I wanted to grab people’s attention so I contacted my friend Voyder who agreed to jazz up the place and he has certainly done that.

“Male grooming is on the up and we focus heavily on that. Andy Hall is running the barber side of things, I am on the tattoo side and we have another room for cosmetics.

“We do not know what the show is called or when it will air but it is very exciting. In terms of the business, there is not one like this anywhere else in Wiltshire. Hopefully we are ahead of the curve.”

Mr Hall added: “The place looks fantastic. Everyone is talking about it, which is great.”
