WESTBURY kept up the pressure on Prem Two Glos/Wilts leaders Goatacre with a seven-wicket triumph at Chippenham on Saturday.

Having put their hosts into bat, the visitors caused Chippenham no end of problems as they were dismissed for 145 in the 40th over.

Only home skipper Oli Jones stood firm, hitting an unbeaten 67 from 92 deliveries, but he had precious little support.

Richard Oakley's 4-43 and Westbury skipper Alex Senneck (2-32) got stuck into the top order, while Richard Mills, with 4-13 from 6.1 overs, mopped up the tail.

Westbury had few issues in getting to the target, opener Mike Coles hitting an unbeaten 87 from 93 balls, including 10 fours and four sixes.

Mills' unbeaten 32 in a partnership of 104 took them to the target in the 31st over.

Goatacre stayed out in front courtesy of their 17-run win over mid-table visitors Thornbury.

Jif Wilkins' 56 and an unbeaten 38 from Brad Dawson were the highlights of the hosts' 206 all out in which Dan Davis took 5-33.

Davis then hit 36 in the reply, skipper Luke Davis adding 45 but Dawson (3-24) and Wilkins (3-19) forced them to come up short.

Burbage & Easton Royal were also winners, by 10 runs at Cheltenham.

Deepak Joon scored 75 in 105 balls, including 10 fours, some late hitting from Adam Lavis helping Burbage to 233-9 in their 50 overs.

Cheltenham made a decent start, Jeremy Duncan scoring 47, while Peter Woodland added 65, but three wickets each for Tom Wallbridge (3-35) and Oliver Lavis (3-47) slowed them up as they eventually finished on 223-9.

Biddestone were on the wrong end of a five-wicket reverse in their basement battle at Hatherley & Reddings.

Josh Boulton's 63 proved the highlight of the visitors' 174 all out after being asked to bat.

Andre Soma took 3-30 and his 76 not out proved decisive in the reply as Hatherley got home in the 46th over despite two wickets for Naeem Khan.
