PUPILS at Kingdown School were treated to a Casino Royale themed night to celebrate their Year 11 prom.

Nearly 200 pupils, who arrived in limousines, tractors, military vehicles, fire engines and mustangs, poured into the school for a jam-packed evening of entertainment, including roulette, black jack and card games.

Away from the casino side of things, there was a photo booth, a shooting arcade, pick and mix and a finger buffet too.

Prom coordinator Emma Taylor was delighted with how the event, which took place on July 6, went, saying it was a great send off for many of the pupils who will be departing the school this summer.

"It was just a brilliant occasion, the casino theme was a huge hit and everyone had a wonderful time, it could not have gone much better," she said.

"The girls looked beautiful and the boys looked very smart. There were plenty of tears, hugs and memories to savour. We had a scheme where if you had an attendance rate that was over 95 per cent, you got in free - an idea the pupils loved as many qualified for that.

"I want to wish all the people that will not be back to Kingdown the best of luck in the future and we look forward to the returning lot coming back in September."
