CHEERY members of the Gloucester Road Allotment Association greeted guests with its annual open day on Saturday, which raised £120 towards their community garden.
Around 50 people, including Mayor Deborah Halik, popped into the Trowbridge site for a barbecue, plants sale, stalls, games and refreshments from 12-3pm.
To entertain the guests, John Aitken showed off his wood turning skills with a demonstration in what proved to be a popular addition to the event.
Organiser Valerie Fahey said: "There was a lovely, lively atmosphere, we had a few people look round the allotment, who may stay on, and everyone got on really well as ever.
"I want to thank everyone that turned out, including the Mayor and Mr Aitken's wood turning proved to be very popular.
"We were a bit worried about the weather as it started off cold and grey but when we got into the swing of things it was glorious.
"We have been doing this for over 10 years and each and every time we come away thinking that was well worth it. We may have a few new faces joining us which will be nice.
"Now excitement is building for our annual show in September where allotment holders will chose their best fruit and vegetables from this season."
