A TEENAGE boy was punched in the face by a young man as he walked near Subway sandwich shop in Devizes.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw the attack, which they are describing as a nasty assault. The teenager was left with a swollen jaw after the assault which happened at about 5.30pm on June 8 in the White Horse Way area of the town.

PC Chris Miller from Wiltshire police said: "The suspect has been described as being a white male, 20 years old, tall about 6ft, broad, short blond hair, clean shaven, wearing a blue jumper and dark trousers.

"The suspect was a front seat passenger in a Blue Peugeot four door 206 car.

"This was a particularly nasty assault whereby the young victim was punched to the face, resulting in a swollen jaw.

"Enquiries are on-going and I would like to speak with any witnesses to the assault or persons in the area at the time."
