Attempts were made to try and break into a house in Langley Road at 3.10pm before the offenders were disturbed by a neighbour and fled.

Community Coordinator PC Hazel Anderson said: “Firstly, I would like to reassure local residents that we are conducting a robust investigation in relation to these burglaries.

“We are aware that a number of them occurred within a similar time frame and in close proximity to one another – we believe these incidents are linked due to the similar sequence of events reported to us.

“Incidents of this nature can be very distressing for residents and we will continue with our enquiries to find those responsible.

“We’d like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard any suspicious behaviour in these areas around the times reported – the information you have may seem quite small and insignificant, but please report it as it could help with our enquiries.”

Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
