A SPIN off between the Devizes Dementia Action Alliance and its counterparts from Tidworth has raised more than £600 for Alzheimer's Support.

The two teams took to static bikes for the spinathon that was held at both Devizes and Tidworth Leisure Centres. Fundraisers kept their bike wheels moving for 12 hours of continuous cycling with Tidworth burning 12,557 calories and Devizes 12,985.

Nell Light, owner of Home Instead Senior Care and member of the Tidworth team said: “At Home Instead many of our clients are living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, so we realise the importance of raising awareness and funds to help the fantastic charities which provide much needed support to people in our community.

“I’m thrilled to have been part of the spinathon event, and the aches and pains are overshadowed by the goodness of the people taking part and their willingness to help and support each other along the way. On behalf of both Dementia Alliance groups, we would like to thank everyone who donated and we look forward to taking on new challenges in the years to come."
