DUE to the terrorist attack in Manchester on Monday night the Inspire Business breakfast hustings for South West Wiltshire candidates on Tuesday was cancelled.
In light of the tragic events at the concert where 22 people died and more than 50 have been injured, organisers of the Westbury Golf Club business breakfast at 7.30am decided that it would not go ahead.
The candidates that were going to attend included Liberal Democrat Trevor Carbin, Labour's Laura Pictor, Independent Liam Silcocks and Green Party's Chris Walford but Conservative Andrew Murrison chose not to go.
Paddy Bradley, of the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: "We decided to cancel it around 6am on Tuesday morning in light of the suicide bombing in Manchester.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with their family and friends and those affected by this tragedy. People understood why we made this decision."
