VETERAN Kevin Iles delivered a virtuoso performance as Goatacre moved through to the Dorset & Wiltshire semi final of the National Village Cup on Sunday.
Iles, in his 41st season playing in the competition, took four wickets and then hit a half-century as his side wrapped up a nine-wicket success at Dorset side Parley.
The visitors won the toss and put Parley in to bat, a decision that soon paid dividends as they reduced the home side to 24-3.
Opener Jonathan Rake hit a steady 42 from 102 balls and Roshan Embalagama a run-a-ball 31 later in the innings but the bowling of Matt House (2-14) and Iles (4-50) restricted them while there were also wickets for Craig Gibbens, Jack Haines and Ed Wilkins as Parley could only get to 120-9.
Iles hit five fours and a six in his unbeaten 50, Haines adding an unbeaten 47 off 45 balls as Goatacre coasted home in the 24th over.
Goatacre are expected to play Redlynch & Hale, who went through after Purton conceded their quarter final, in the regional last four on Sunday, May 28 Burbage & Easton Royal are also through to the last four, where they will meet county rivals Lacock, after a 112-run triumph at Aldbourne on Sunday.
Put into bat Burbage amassed 242-9 from their 40 overs, with half-centuries for opener Craig Simmons, Daniel Wootton and Oliver Lavis.
Ian Bourne hit 29 in the Aldbourne reply, but three wickets from Adam Lavis and a couple for Matthew Milne ensured their innings ended at 130 in the 32nd over.
Adam Mitchell hit a superb 139 and Miles Copland 74 as Lacock's 291-6 proved 86 runs too good for Shrewton (205-9).
