A YOUTH football team in Corsham were given a new look this month after a housing developer gifted them a new red and black strip to wear during their matches in the new season.

Cotswold Homes, who are building 45 homes at Corsham Rise in Potley Lane, purchased the kit for AFC Corsham's Under 11 Tigers team last month to help promote the club and their houses to potential buyers.

Club chairman Simon Bray said: "I have been the chairman of the club now for a year and one of my ambitions was to push the club on and there are a lot of developers in and around Corsham so I wrote a letter to every one asking them if they would like to sponsor one of our teams kit and Cotswolds Homes agreed.

"The kids are completely over the moon with their kit as it is a really nice strip and we really appreciate their help."

The developers, who are working on the houses which start from £310,000, decided to help the club to support community assets and make a positive impact in the area where they are investing.

Cotswold Homes head of sales and marketing Terri-Hayes-Pugh said: "Our policy is to do much more than build and sell new homes but to make valuable and practical contributions to the lives of those in the local community."
