Another Devizes woman has had her bottom slapped by teenage boys as she walked home.

The woman is the third to be indecently assaulted in this way amid growing concerns that it is a prank by youths. In the latest assault during the early evening on Wednesday a woman was left injured after two boys struck as she walked on the path that leads from Long Street to Hillworth Road,

She said that one of the two teenagers slapped her bottom causing her to lose her balance and then the other one slapped her that she fell on to barbed wire and cut her arm from shoulder to elbow. The boys then ran off laughing.

Devizes police are investigating the incident which comes after a woman had her bottom slapped as she walked along Windsor Drive and another as she walked along the canal.

A spokesman for Wiltshire police said: "We are investigating an assault which occurred in Hillworth Road, Devizes, on 11 May 2017.

"At approximately 7pm, a 50-year-old woman was walking along the footpath that links St John’s Church to Hillworth Road, when she became aware of two young males walking behind her.

"When she stepped aside to let them pass, they slapped her to the bottom. This caused her to fall to the ground. As a result she sustained a cut to her arm.

"Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the incident should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
