PRAY tell me why as soon as the sun is warm enough to fling open your windows, peg out your fresh laundry, then sit on your garden bench to enjoy the rays, some inconsiderate neighbour decides to start a bonfire in his or her back garden? The fumes and thick billowing, acrid smoke permeate your nostrils, fill your house with a smell that is impossible to get rid of for days, not to mention your fresh laundry which requires another wash!
What is wrong with these people? I accept that some people are too miserly to pay for the council garden waste bin collection but:
1) Have they no concerns about the ozone layer?
2) Have they no concerns about others suffering breathing problems?
3) Have they no consideration for their fellow human beings?
Is there any current legislation governing the lighting of garden bonfires in a residential area? I believe it should be banned.
