A TRIAL involving a girl who was seriously injured while using a freefall jump attraction will take place in the summer.

The case will revolve around alleged health and safety offences committed by the aerial adventure centre of Head 4 Heights, in the Cotswold Water Park.

The girl, who cannot be named because of her age, suffered fractures and a dislocation during the incident and now has ongoing health problems, the court was told at an earlier hearing.

Head 4 Heights Ltd, which has a registered address of Swatton Barn, Badbury, Swindon, denies responsibility and pleaded not guilty in November last year to two charges of breaching Health and Safety legislation.

The firm denied failing to make a suitable and sufficient risk assessment regarding safety at the freefall jump attraction between May 1 and August 1, 2015.

It also denied failing to ensure that people - including the girl - were not put at risk at the attraction.

Judge Michael Cullum conducted a pre-trial review at Gloucester Crown Court last week to ensure the case was ready.

He was told that the trial would need a full two weeks to hear, whereas a previous estimate was six to seven days.

At the previous hearing, the judge ordered that the names of the injured girl and her parents should not be published.

The case was set for trial on Monday, June 19, at Gloucester Crown Court.
