A garage fire in Calne is being investigated after a suspected tumble dryer caught alight yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.
Firefighters from Calne and Chippenham rushed to The Pippin at 5.40pm where they began extinguishing the fire using four breathing apparatus, two main jets, one high pressure hose reel, two dry powder fire extinguishers and a short extension ladder.
The power to the garage was also isolated and the fire was extinguished by 6.25pm.
Firefighters remained on the scene though for another two hours for damping down and the Environment Agency were contacted about a water run off that was potentially contaminated by fuel at the scene.
Investigators are currently trying to work out what caused the fire but it is believed that the tumble drier could be at fault.
More information to follow.
