A COMPANY in Bradford on Avon has chosen Dorothy House Hospice to receive its first charitable donation.

SLR Consultants in Trenwood House, Rowden Lane, visited the hospice site in Winsley to present the team with a cheque for £1,000 after the company chose the charity to benefit from its charitable giving fund.

Tim Good, 35, principal consultant at SLR, said: “The donation was part of the charity scheme that has just started at SLR. We chose Dorothy House because sadly my mother-in- law died last year and we had to use the services provided by Dorothy House. The work they did was fantastic so that is why we wanted to raise money for them, and they are a local charity.

“We raised the money from our Christmas party and from a cake sale, amongst other things. All together the staff raised £440. The company made up the rest so we had £1,000 in total.”

Mr Good, along with Jo Wood from SLR, visited Dorothy House last Friday to present the cheque to the team.

“We went up there and we were given a tour around the hospice. We told them before we went up how much we had raised. Our first charity donation was a success so we will be looking to continue it over the coming years.”

Henrietta Beard, corporate fundraiser at Dorothy House Hospice Care said: “We’re delighted to receive this generous donation from SLR Consulting following their successful Christmas Jumper Day and raffle. We look forward to collaborating with SLR again in the near future and are very grateful for their kind support. The funds donated will help the hospice continue to provide excellent care and support for patients, their families and carers."
