A FOOTBALL team in Corsham will be sporting a brand new set of stripes in Leafy Lane after a housebuilder decided to support the local community.

Cotswolds Homes, who is building 45 homes at Corsham Rise in Potley Lane, will be providing the club's Under 11 Tigers team with a new kit bearing the developer's logo.

As a FA Charter Standard Development Club, AFC Corsham aims to raise standards in grassroots football as well as player's social status, typically through refereeing courses for teenagers.

"We are a registered charity and with limited funds so we are hugely grateful to firms like Cotswold Homes which provide valuable support exactly where it is needed," club treasurer Bob Mullins said. "We don’t just take the money from sponsors but like to develop a mutually beneficial rapport with them."

The Corsham Rise homes, which comprise of three-bedroom semi-detached homes and four-bedroom detached homes, are on sale at www.cotswoldhomes.co.uk.
