A VETERAN band that have sold close to a million records popped into Marlborough to perform at a packed out Cafe Thirty8.

Dreadzone, whose music focuses on a fusion of dub, reggae, electronic dance, folk and rock, put together a 45 minute performance, followed by signing session at Sound Knowledge.

This was the first time the band, who were touring the UK to promote their new album Dread Times, had performed at the venue and the owner of Sound Knowledge, Roger Mortimer, said he would be thrilled if they returned for a repeat visit.

"It was filled to capacity and those that did not get in watched through windows and danced in Hughenden Yard," he said.

"Without doubt it was a really successful and enjoyable night for everyone. This is another example of the fantastic acts and bands that come to this venue.

"They had planned to play for 30 minutes but as the audience were so great, they played for an extra 15 minutes which went down a treat.

"When we opened in 1995, they had a single out called Little Britain that was in the top 20 in the charts and we had that on vinyl, so to have them perform here in 2017, it is like things have gone full circle."

After the performance on the evening of February 22, the band went into Sound Knowledge for a signing session.

"It was a pleasure to have them and we would welcome them back anytime. Having live performances is one of the best bits about what we do," said Mr Mortimer.
