COSMETICS giant Bobbi Brown has filled one of the empty shops in Marlborough by opening a store of its own this week in the High Street,

The shop at 121-122 High Street, opened its doors to the public on Monday, giving consumers the chance to discover a range of colour cosmetics, brushes, skincare fragrance and services.

Bob Holman, of The Marlborough High Street Retailers Association, added: "It is great news that they have opened a new and exciting store in our fabulous High Street.

"Another new travel agents is also due to open soon, occupying a small shop next to Waitrose, and Pieminster is soon launching in the previous Wellington Arms.

"These new businesses to the town will bring another dimension to local shoppers, and I hope will also help to make Marlborough an even more lovely destination to visit and shop."

Mayor Noel Barrett-Morton also welcomed the arrival of the big name store.

"I am pleased that another empty shop has been let and hope that, with the high rents absentee Landlords are tending to charge nowadays, they will sustain themselves with the type of merchandise they sell," he said.

In recent months, two vacant shops have now been filled in Superdrug and Joules Clothing.

"The brand was drawn to the town’s elegant and unique charm, with its vibrant market high street and historical landmarks mirrored with a strong sense of community," said Quita Davis, general manager of the company in the UK and Ireland.

"The studio will offer unique services from a strong in-house team of makeup artists."
