ST Peter’s Academy in Chippenham welcomed a visit from local MP Michelle Donelan who praised the enthusiasm and dedication of staff and children.
The school, which is rated Good by Ofsted, are in the process of extending their outdoor play area and sporting facilities, the first part of which will be completed this month with a new pirate play-ship for younger children.
Miss Donelan said: “St Peter’s is a great school with a dedicated team of staff. As you walk around you get a real sense of enthusiasm from the students and the classrooms are bright and attractive.”
A total of 190 pupils attend the academy which is located on Lords Mead and currently has an Outstanding rating for its church.
Headteacher Mark Everett said: “It was a pleasure to show Miss Donelan around St Peter’s Academy and she was impressed with the calm purposeful environment at our school.
“We are proud of the kind and caring community at St Peter’s where pupils are nurtured to achieve their best.
“They receive a good all-round education through a wide range of curriculum opportunities.”
