TWO witnesses who may have seen an attempted robbery at the Rivo Lounge in Chippenham are being urged to come forward by police.

A 44-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and released on bail following the incident.

On January 10 at 9pm, staff were told by a man who'd entered the premises on The Bridge to hand over money from the till.

PC Gemma Lumley said: “In particular I am really keen to speak to a man and women who were having a drink at the bar.

“Besides staff, this couple are believed to have been the only other people present at the time.

“When they saw the incident take place, the man intervened.

“I'd really like to speak to them as they may have information which could assist our investigation.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
