THE Chippenham Pit Stop are raising a glass after transforming an old pub into a new community and transport business facility.
The former redundant dome-shaped building has been renamed The Goods Yard and will be used for functions during the year at the truck stop, just off junction 17 of the M4.
"For the past two years we have been building up our relationship with surrounding villages so much so that a growing number of residents are popping in to our Draycot Stores and using our restaurant," said managing director of the Chippenham Pit Stop, David Hatherell.
"Now The Goods Yard will be available for local community and family functions as well as business meetings and seminars linked to the transport industry.
"It would was also be used straight away as an extra evening leisure facility for around one hundred truckers who overnight at The Pit Stop five days a week.”
