MELKSHAM Town will get another chance to say a final goodbye to their old Conigre ground tomorrow night after battling back to earn a 1-1 draw in their FA Vase fourth round tie at Bristol Manor Farm yesterday.

Darren Perrin’s side, who are due to host Toolstation League Premier Division leaders Manor Farm in their first match at their new Woolmore Farm base next Saturday, will have another go at progressing further in the national competition at their outgoing base after Saturday’s creditable result.

The visitors trailed to Troy Simpson’s strike until five minute from time when Sam Jordan netted to ensure a reply, with neither side able to break though in the 30 minutes of extra time.

Bradford Town saw their FA Vase hopes extinguished after a 4-2 extra-time defeat at home to London side Southall.

Bradford made the perfect start when Kane Simpson put them ahead after only four minutes at Trowbridge Road but the Spartan South Midlands Football League Division One side were level just after the half-hour mark as Wayne Harvey headed home Jamie Bartlett’s free kick.

The home side appeared to have won it on 88 minutes as Mark Wall fired home from a Matt Morris corner but there was still time for Gary Senior to restore parity again and take it to extra time.

There, Adam Louth converted a penalty for the visitors and, with Bradford pushing up, including goalkeeper Jamie Bartlett, Southall broke and Harvey ran 60 yards to tap into an empty net.

Malmesbury Victoria stayed inside the top six of the Toolstation League First Division as they fought back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw with county rivals Devizes Town on Saturday.

The Vics started the contest well and were nearly ahead inside two minutes as Jamie Packer’s effort cannoned back off a post.

However, the home side were caught after 10 minutes when a long ball found Devizes’ Tom Slater and he rounded the keeper to give his side the advantage.

A similar move five minutes before the interval saw Rory Collins find the space to double Devizes’ advantage.

Malmesbury halved their deficit eight minutes into the second period when man of the match Josh Hughes sent a long ball past the defence and Sam Parker was on hand to fire home his 13th goal of the season.

Shortly before the hour mark parity was restored when Ed Wilkins headed Ant Brown’s free kick to the far post where Danny Cook was on hand to volley home.

Corsham Town clinched their first Toolstation League First Division victory in eight as they defeated Almondsbury UWE 4-2 in Bristol.

Nigel Tripp’s side went ahead on five minutes when a Callum Elms free kick found an unmarked Zach Costello for his first goal for the club but they had to ride their luck for the remainder of the half as Almondsbury equalised through Ryan Gourlay, then missed a penalty.

Stuart Alexander restored parity after a mix-up in Corsham’s defence but Elms curled home a free kick to put the visitors ahead again before substitute Aaron Masson wrapped the points.

Calne Town showed no mercy on county rivals Westbury United as they romped to a 4-0 triumph at Bremhill View, Mark Dolman scoring twice and Josh Legg and William Boakes adding the others, while Chippenham Park and Warminster Town drew 1-1 at Hardenhuish Park.

In Sydenhams League Division One, Pewsey Vale were beaten 5-2 at home by Downton, despite strikes from David Cope and Cameron Mackenzie.

Meanwhile, Royal Wootton Bassett Town started the new year in the right fashion as they came from behind to be 10-man Ascot United in the Hellenic League Premier Division.

Dale Richards, Sam Packer and Steve Robertson all netted for the visitors to claim all three points.
